with power pickup loop on shaft is the solution.  

(LEFT)  For continuous or long term measurements

where large shaft displacements occur a pre-formed

static loop provides power to the transmitter and

signal pickup.

Module.  Inductive  power and signal transmission eliminates the need for batteries or slip-rings.
